Antique Victorian ring set with rows of ruby and pearls. The ring is set in a warm 15ct yellow gold. The ring has a number of marks indicating this piece was made in 15ct gold in Birmingham, England in 1881.
Ruby is the birthstone for July, it is the colour of love, anger, passion and fury. It was believed those who wore rubies were bestowed with good fortune. throughout history rubies were worn by emperors and kings. Diamonds symbolise innocence and love, they are the birthstone of April.
